“Woodworkers understand the struggle: weeks of crafting, countless hours sanding, and then, as your finish dries, the disappointment sets in – uneven color, an odd finish, a glazed look. You overlooked a wet spot. This efficient moisture meter pinpoints those overlooked damp areas, ensuring a thorough and even drying process often missed by standard double-pin meters.”

Impressive non destructive moisture meter…. A good pinless meter like this is mostly for (not exclusively) for fine woodworking…. why? Cause when u are building furniture, you work with wood that is often 3/4-2″ thick… a pin meter only reads on moisture between the pins. That is not always representative of the moisture 3/4″ deep…. u want all your wood at the same moisture content before milling and or joining, so it moves at the same rate in the future. This meter is the only high qaulity meter I have seen other than the industry standard, Wagner. I checked this against my Wagner meter with Cherry, Oak, Maple, Marblewood, Walnut and Pine…. the readings were near spot on with the Wagner, that is the best reference I have. the unit comes with a calibration stand, good instructions and the read out is easy to read. The price might seem high if u are coming from pin meters, but check out Wagners prices to compare to this meter, and you will see how price competitive this is… hard to find a flaw here, 5 stars, recommended!

Not a toy. This is the real deal. Easy to use. It comes with spare pins for down the road. You can even get a calibration checker which tells me the company stands behind the readings for the units they send out. The controls are simple. Turn it on, select the appropriate species from the manual and enter it, test. There is even a hold button if you can’t see the display while you’re testing. A good addition for a woodworking shop for projects that are more than construction grade.

Easy to use. I tried out this moisture meter and it’s been a game-changer for my woodworking projects. I used to guess if the wood was dry enough. That led to some frustrating mistakes. Now, I feel more confident picking the right pieces. I like that it’s super easy to use. I just press it against the wood and it gives me a reading. The readings seem accurate and help me time everything better. It’s small and fits nicely in my toolbox. I’m hoping to avoid warps in future projects by checking the moisture first. This was definitely worth getting for anyone who works with wood regularly. This is a pretty light-weight device, but it’s made well and works awesome.

Nice, accurate meter that comes complete with all you need to get started.
I’m glad I got this for my home since I do a lot of work as a DIYer around the house with both treated and untreated wood. The meter is easy to use and runs with a 9V battery (included) plus it comes with extra pins and a small wrench to screw them into the meter. I tested several pieces of pine wood from inside and outside the house. The wood inside the house measured 6-7% which is typical and the wood outside my house measured 10-14%. I also took a piece of scrap pine and sprayed it with water and left it outside overnight and it measured 18-19%. Based on my tests, this meter appears accurate plus it is very easy to use. Compact enough to slip into your pocket if you are at the lumber yard picking out stock.

Protect Your Work With Moisture Testing

Accurate moisture measurement is a critical step in preventing costly moisture-related problems in woodworking, flooring, and construction projects.

Wood moisture content is a major factor in determining how your wood will perform during and after the building or crafting process. Wood expands or contracts when its moisture content changes to match its environment. If these changes aren’t controlled or accounted for, wood movement can significantly affect the whole project.

Our meters protect projects in various areas, including:

  • Woodworking
  • Wood floor installation
  • Construction
  • Home moisture inspection
  • Sawmill lumber wood drying
